Volume 1, Chapter 11: A Junior? Radiating the Aura of a Married Woman?
Xiao Fancheng was well aware: if such a little devil were allowed to grow, it might become even more wicked than a villain!
Though the apocalypse, where everyone hunts each other, had arrived, the evil within human nature would inevitably expand. Xiao Fancheng had no desire to pretend to be a good person, having witnessed far worse deeds. Yet his bottom line was the most basic compassion between the strong and the weak. He would kill, but never torture.
“Ahhhh!”
“You beast! My grandson!”
“I want you to pay with your life!”
Zhou Jufang’s eyes instantly reddened as she lunged forward like a mad dog. A cold glint flashed in Xiao Fancheng’s eyes. Filled with rage, he delivered a powerful kick. Zhou Jufang was sent flying, crashing heavily against the wall. With all his strength, the kick shattered several ribs, bone fragments piercing her internal organs. Death was certain.
“Is the girl inside your roommate?” Xiao Fancheng asked coldly, turning to Wang Yuanyuan’s fiancée, who resembled a Snorlax in a wedding dress.
Startled, Snorlax’s eyes flashed with fear as she hurriedly spoke, “I didn’t do it! That old woman did! I’m a victim too!” But Xiao Fancheng had already smelled the scent of smoke on her.
“Lying!” His angry shout startled Snorlax. She froze for a moment, then burst into fury.
“So what if I did it? It’s the apocalypse now!”
“The strong dominate the weak—I do as I please.”
“Why should she eat so much and still be so thin?”
“Why does she come from a wealthy family, carrying leather brand bags?”
“I just wanted all her designer bags and clothes for myself!”
“You look like a strong one too—take me with you.”
“I want to find Wang Yuanyuan. Any favorite female celebrities?”
“Together, we could make a name for ourselves in this apocalypse. What do you say?”
Xiao Fancheng raised his Desert Eagle and coldly pulled the trigger.
After settling everything, he returned to the restroom. The girl’s plight before him was almost unimaginable—and it was only the second day! Her eyes were already blind. The healing powers of the apocalypse game might appear someday, but until then, Xiao Fancheng could not carry a burden in this world.
Still, this girl wasn’t necessarily doomed.
If she could survive until the seventh day, when the apocalypse game arrived, anyone alive would have their illnesses cured—a rare mercy in these times.
Using the key he found, Xiao Fancheng unlocked the chains, leaving water and food beside her. He held her hand, guiding it to the supplies, then turned and closed the restroom door. Her fate depended entirely on her will to survive. If strong enough, she might be reborn.
With his own affairs settled, Xiao Fancheng felt refreshed and checked his phone again. Sure enough, dozens of student groups blinked with “99+” notifications.
“Interesting,” he murmured, narrowing his eyes.
Opening the chats revealed students furiously cursing him. The girls called him a loser and creep, while the boys joined in mockery, pretending to comfort the girls with feigned chivalry—though they were nothing but lecherous fools.
Xiao Fancheng almost wanted to ask, “Hey guys, any women hitting on you?”
But the insults aside, soon messages began arriving—requests for supplies. Some were even brazen enough to threaten him, warning that if he didn’t provide food and water, they would come after him later.
Amusing.
Being bullied by these fledglings? Anyone who dared threaten him received a 60-second voice message and an immediate block.
Others tried buying supplies with drones—also promptly blocked. After all, he sought people, and beautiful ones at that.
Later, Ye Chu moved to the window, peering down at the street below. The blood-red dust now rose to the height of the third floor, thick and bubbling like a spicy Sichuan hotpot, swallowing the roads entirely.
“Most school buildings are six or seven stories tall. A few survived the first days,” he noted. “But stray cats and dogs inside? Different story.”
“By now, they’ve likely turned into zombie-mutant dogs and cats, hunting humans.”
“Soon, even some plants and small animals would mutate.”
Xiao Fancheng grimaced slightly. If memory served, fewer than twenty percent survived the first seven days.
As he recalled, a movement at the neighboring B area girls’ dorm caught his eye. He shifted his gaze.
A very beautiful girl stood on the balcony, waving vigorously and pointing at her phone. Though the distance made her features unclear, it was obvious she was tall and well-endowed, with two car headlights just a bit smaller than her head.
“Looks promising, but she’s in B area,” he sighed helplessly. “If I want to recruit her, I’ll have to wait until after the seventh day.”
With the blood-red dust outside, aside from the girls in the A area dormitory, there was nothing he could do for anyone else.
The girl’s frantic gestures urged him to check his phone again. Sure enough, several friend requests appeared—with one note instantly catching his attention.
Qing Siyu! The mature-looking freshman girl. Just recently, he had come across her.
With the friend request accepted, Xiao Fancheng curiously awaited her message.
Soon, she sent three words:
“I’m so hungry.”
Seeing that, Xiao Fancheng chuckled dryly.
“Oh? And?”
Qing Siyu replied instantly:
“I’m waving to you from the balcony. I just heard you have food and water. Can you sell me some?”
No wonder the girl opposite had such an impressive figure.
Too bad, the blood-red dust separated them. No one could cross, unless they could fly.
Not to mention the risk of infection, or the mutants lurking within the dust. Stepping in was a death sentence.
So Xiao Fancheng replied with a mischievous grin:
“Sorry, your address is out of service range. Delivery only to A dormitory female quarters.”
“And you must pick up in person.”
In response, Qing Siyu sent a pitiful, aggrieved emoji.
“Wuwuwu. Baby’s starving until there’s no meat left on my butt.”
Xiao Fancheng couldn’t help but laugh. He hadn’t expected this mature-looking freshman to have such a playful heart.
