Once Tang Zhen realized this, his attitude toward these items immediately became serious.
He began carefully examining the suit of leather armor. Hard work pays off, and after about three hours, he finally figured out what made it so extraordinary.
The black leather armor was, without question, a treasure no less valuable than the purple short sword!
Its defensive power was fairly ordinary, only slightly better than that of common leather armor. Its true marvel lay in the two bracers.
There was a mechanism on the bracer of the left arm. By pressing it forcefully, one could fire a black steel spike. The spike was about as long as an index finger, and its penetrating power was astonishing.
Five steel spikes were concealed inside the bracer. Once retrieved, they could be reloaded and used again.
Tang Zhen was eager to see what kind of ingenious mechanism could conceal five deadly steel spikes inside such a thin bracer. Unfortunately, the bracer had been crafted so seamlessly that he could not take it apart.
The other bracer could eject a wrist blade. It was equally sharp. Although it could not compare with the purple short sword, it had the advantage of catching enemies off guard.
In all fairness, the hidden weapons in the pair of bracers were indeed highly lethal, their greatest strengths being stealth and surprise. But for Tang Zhen, who possessed storage space, they were not especially important.
As long as he wished, he could retrieve anything from his storage space at any time, with far greater convenience and secrecy than the weapons hidden in the bracers.
The only thing that delighted him was that when the two bracers touched each other, they generated a mysterious upward force.
The force made him feel as light as a swallow, as though his body weight had been reduced by a full two-thirds.
This was no illusion. After activating the force, Tang Zhen gave a light jump and nearly crashed through the roof.
The room was over three meters high, and he had touched the ceiling with his head. Calculating carefully, a gentle leap had sent him nearly two meters straight into the air.
If he unleashed the full power of his second-level strength, Tang Zhen estimated that he could easily jump onto the balcony of a third-floor apartment!
Unfortunately, this sensation of floating like a startled swan lasted only one minute. If he wanted to use it again, he would have to wait at least three hours.
Although its use was subject to a time limit, this was still a rare treasure for Tang Zhen.
By now, both his strength and speed far surpassed those of ordinary people. If he could also jump higher and farther than before, surely no one would refuse such an advantage.

There were also several rolls of parchment in the chest, covered in words and patterns Tang Zhen could not understand. After studying them for a while without making any progress, he set them aside.
When he picked up the glass bottle, which was only as thick as his thumb, his wrist suddenly sank. The bottle was astonishingly heavy.
Tang Zhen weighed it in his hand and estimated that it contained nearly four or five pounds.
Such a tiny object was nevertheless so heavy. There had to be something unusual about it.
Tang Zhen stared at the black liquid inside the glass bottle, his face filled with thought.
As for the remaining items, Tang Zhen could make even less sense of them. He stopped examining them one by one and gathered them all together, intending to have them appraised later by someone who knew their worth.
After finishing everything, Tang Zhen sat quietly at home, waiting for the system to restart.
Before that, however, he first locked the gate outside the courtyard tightly, then climbed over the wall and entered the house. In this way, it would appear that he was not at home.
He had no desire to be caught red-handed by the police while waiting inside, especially if they came knocking to check the water meter.
The Tower World, the Wanderer Town.
Qianlong entered from outside the cave. After glancing at Big Bear, who was playing with the little girl, he turned to Murong Ziyan and said, “Brother Tang has been gone for several days without any word. Could something have happened?”
Murong Ziyan shook her head and replied with a smile, “There shouldn’t be any problem. Didn’t he tell us to wait here? Then we’ll just wait patiently.”
Qianlong nodded and sat down with a grin. “Brother Tang is an extraordinary man. He can get his hands on so many good things. To be honest, ever since I met him, I feel like I’ve latched onto a tycoon’s leg. I follow him around every day, eating and drinking in style!”
Murong Ziyan smiled and nodded in agreement. “Yes. There’s something very unusual about him. Compared with the other wanderers, he doesn’t resemble them in the slightest.”
“What do you think Brother Tang really is?”
“I don’t know. In fact, I’m even more curious than you are!”
While the two were chatting, a sudden commotion erupted outside. Qianlong frowned and quickly rushed out of the cave to investigate.

About half an hour later, Qianlong ran back in with a grim expression and said to Murong Ziyan, “The situation isn’t good. I heard that a black wilderness tower has appeared not far from here, along with a large number of powerful guardian monsters.
“For some unknown reason, several thousand monsters suddenly fled beyond the tower’s guarded territory. Along the way, they’ve been capturing monsters and wanderers everywhere. Now those tower monsters are heading toward Wanderer Town.”
Based on his experience, Qianlong judged that the monsters were advancing with terrifying momentum. If things continued this way, Wanderer Town probably would not hold out.
Once the monsters breached the town, they certainly would not spare its inhabitants. If that happened, Murong Ziyan and the others would be in danger!
In Qianlong’s eyes, Murong Ziyan was Brother Tang’s woman. Since Brother Tang was not there, Qianlong felt it was his duty to protect her. He therefore suggested that Murong Ziyan relocate immediately.
But where could they hide in the boundless wilderness?
For a time, everyone was troubled, desperately trying to think of a solution.
Their anxiety did not last long, however, because news soon arrived—and it was good news!
To deal with the sudden monster uprising, Blackrock City had dispatched an elite team of cultivators into the wilderness to exterminate the monsters. They absolutely would not allow them to run rampant within the territory controlled by Blackrock City.
At the same time, Blackrock City issued a bounty order. Anyone who killed corpse monsters of the corresponding levels could exchange them for the appropriate rewards, provided they brought along the monsters’ designated organs as proof.
The rewards offered by Blackrock City were extremely generous. After killing a second-level monster, the brain bead belonged to the killer, who could also visit Blackrock City’s mission office to claim a reward equivalent to a second-level brain bead. In other words, it amounted to double the profit.
Once the corpse monsters had been reduced to a certain number, Blackrock City would dispatch high-level cultivators to clear out the wilderness tower and eradicate the threat completely.
As soon as this news spread, the panic-stricken wanderers immediately calmed down after hearing Blackrock City’s announcement.
Although no one knew why the usually aloof Blackrock City had suddenly acted so unusually and taken the initiative to send troops against the monsters, it was a good thing regardless.
What was more, the wanderers began planning to form hunting teams and go kill corpse monsters. After all, earning double rewards was an excellent opportunity!
The wanderers cheered with excitement. The crisis seemed to vanish with a single statement from Blackrock City. This demonstrated the city’s formidable reputation throughout the surrounding region.
