This time, Blackrock City had dispatched five hundred cultivators, organized into one hundred squads. Each squad consisted of five members, all of whom possessed cultivation at the second level or above.

With the cooperation of the Wanderer exploration teams, they quickly and effectively halted the monsters’ rampage as soon as the two sides made contact, confining them to a certain area around the Wild Building.

Even so, during this period, at least a thousand Wanderers had already been captured by the corpse monsters. Their fate was unknown.

The battle became deadlocked almost as soon as it began.

By the evening of the second day, another piece of news arrived: the Blackrock City warrior squads and the Wanderer exploration teams seemed to have run into trouble. A large horde of corpse monsters had suddenly poured out of the Wild Building, among them many enormous and astonishingly powerful creatures. There were even cavalrymen riding monsters!

The monsters, now greatly strengthened, launched a counterattack. Caught off guard, the cultivators of Blackrock City and the Wanderer exploration teams suffered heavy casualties.

Once this news spread, those with keen instincts realized that the Wild Building was probably far from ordinary, because the corpse monsters within it seemed fundamentally different from common monsters.

By the morning of the third day, it was said that Blackrock City had sent an elder to oversee the battle. This elder’s cultivation had reached the peak of the fifth level. He was only one step away from becoming a sixth-level existence capable of wielding mysterious powers.

During the fighting, that elder had once charged into the Wild Building, only to emerge shortly afterward, fleeing while vomiting blood.

By that calculation, of the more than nine hundred and fifty thousand gold coins he had remaining, only about five hundred thousand were left now!
