Chapter 18: The Innocent Female Streamer Is Everyone’s Darling (18)
After watching the entire movie, Yun Suisui didn’t remember the plot at all; her attention was never really on the screen.
By the time Pei Zhiqiu and Yun Suisui stepped out of the cinema, evening had already fallen.
Pei Zhiqiu took Yun Suisui to meet his parents.
Before their arrival, Pei Zhiqiu’s family had thoroughly investigated Yun Suisui’s background. They were very pleased with their future daughter-in-law, expressing that as long as their son liked her, they would too.
When it was time to leave, Pei Zhiqiu’s mother presented Yun Suisui with a family heirloom—a jade bracelet.
Yun Suisui refused to accept it at first, but in the end, unable to resist the mother’s insistence, she reluctantly took the bracelet.
Outside Yun Suisui’s home.
Pei Zhiqiu looked at her with reluctance, “Really can’t live together?”
Yun Suisui shook her head, “I’m not ready to cohabit yet. Also, I livestream, and my place is too small. If I move even a little, my fans will find out there’s a man at my home.”
Pei Zhiqiu possessively pulled her close, “Yun Suisui, am I really that shameful?”
Yun Suisui shook her head rapidly like a rattle drum, “No, it’s just that our relationship isn’t stable yet. I want to wait until it’s more serious before making it public—like when we’re engaged or married.”
The fire in Pei Zhiqiu’s heart instantly vanished upon hearing this. He smiled and said, “So you want to marry me, huh? Fine, then we’ll announce it after the wedding.”
Relieved to have finessed Pei Zhiqiu, Yun Suisui breathed out, “Then you should go quickly. I have a livestream to start soon.”
Pei Zhiqiu bent down and kissed her lips.
The kiss was tender and lingering.
After an unknown amount of time, Pei Zhiqiu reluctantly let her go, “I’m leaving. Call me if anything comes up.”
“Got it,” Yun Suisui replied sweetly.
“You go inside first. I’ll watch you go in before I leave.”
“Okay.” Yun Suisui opened the door, then turned to wave at Pei Zhiqiu.
“See you tomorrow.”
With that, she closed the heavy door behind her.
Pei Zhiqiu chuckled softly, “See you tomorrow.”
Yun Suisui placed the jade bracelet her mother-in-law had given her into a drawer.
She just opened her phone when she saw many messages from Ji Yanli.
She hurriedly replied.
[Yun Suisui: I went out this afternoon and didn’t check my phone. Just got home.]
Ji Yanli replied instantly.
[Ji Yanli: It’s nothing. A male friend?]
Yun Suisui hesitated a moment but ultimately didn’t respond to that question.
[Yun Suisui: Brother, I’m about to start my livestream after you finish work.]
After sending the message, Yun Suisui turned off her phone and went to the mirror, applying foundation to cover the strawberry marks on her neck. However, in her rush, one mark wasn’t fully concealed.
Following the recent Qiao Biluo incident and the scandal of two wealthy patrons spending millions out of love overnight, Yun Suisui had become one of the hottest top streamers on DY.
Many other streamers tuned in to watch her broadcast. As soon as Yun Suisui went live, a large crowd flooded into her room.
Smiling, she greeted those in front of the camera, “Good evening, everyone. I’m your Suisui.”
Pei Zhiqiu and Ji Yanli both opened her live stream.
[Fan 1: Waqu, what’s that on Suisui’s neck? Is it a hickey?]
[Fan 2: Sister Suisui is dating?]
[Fan 3: No way! My sister Suisui is actually dating.]
[Fan 4: Is it really a hickey? I want to hear it from Suisui herself.]
[Fan 5: Sister Suisui! Tell us, is it really a hickey? Are you really dating?]
Pei Zhiqiu watched the barrage of comments with a very good mood.
Pointing to the strawberry mark on her neck, Yun Suisui said, “You mean this? Last night I forgot to turn on the air conditioner when I slept, and the window was open. Mosquito bit me.”
Thanks to the foundation covering, the viewers couldn’t see the mark clearly.
Ji Yanli’s gaze locked tightly on the mark, recalling the message Yun Suisui hadn’t replied to.
His eyes lowered. Yun Suisui wouldn’t lie; it must have just been a mosquito bite.
At this moment, Pei Zhiqiu coolly sent gifts to Yun Suisui.
She smiled sweetly, “Thank you for the gift.”
After the stream ended, Yun Suisui immediately called Ji Yanli via video.
Ji Yanli didn’t pick up.
She called again, and only then did he answer.
Yun Suisui looked aggrieved on camera, “Why did you only pick up now? I called as soon as I ended the stream.”
Ji Yanli’s voice was unreadable, but Yun Suisui could hear him smoking.
“What's wrong? Brother, are you upset?” she asked softly.
“No, get some rest early,” Ji Yanli said. His words were few today, but his tone remained gentle as always.
Yun Suisui coaxed him gently, “Don’t be unhappy, brother. I don’t know why you’re upset, but let’s meet after a while, okay?”
Ji Yanli was taken aback. Had his Suisui finally decided to see him?
He stubbed out his cigarette. “Are you serious?”
Yun Suisui nodded, “Of course. After all, the one I want to see most is you.”
Ji Yanli smiled, his eyes brimming with happiness he could not hide. “Alright, when you want to see me, just send me a message. I’ll come find you.”
Yun Suisui smiled and nodded, “Got it.”
In the blink of an eye, September arrived—the day Imperial Capital University reopened.
Over the past month, Yun Suisui had been drifting among three men. Since Pei Zhiqiu’s affection rating rose to 90%, it hadn’t changed; Ji Junmo’s affection stayed at 30%, while Ji Yanli’s remained at 78%.
At the start of school, Pei Zhiqiu had to travel abroad for company matters and couldn’t accompany Yun Suisui for registration.
The September weather in the Imperial Capital was no longer as scorching as August’s; it was much fresher.
Because she was not a resident student, Yun Suisui didn’t carry any luggage when entering the school.
She immediately attracted many gazes upon arrival.
She carried a white backpack, wore a tight pink short-sleeved top, a white pleated mini skirt, with white ankle socks and Mary Jane shoes.
Her outfit was incredibly sweet, adored not only by boys but also by girls.
“Wow, that girl is so beautiful and fair-skinned. Such a great figure too.”
“Look, she’s wearing the custom necklace from the Xiang family, and the bracelet as well. That whole outfit must be worth over a million yuan. Especially that bag—it costs at least a million to buy with matching accessories.”
“Who is she? So beautiful and rich.”
“Wait, she looks familiar! Doesn’t she look just like Suisui Ping’an, who’s recently very popular on DY?”
“Wow, I’ve seen my idol!”
Many who recognized Yun Suisui were secretly snapping photos with their phones.
A shy young man approached her, holding out his phone. “Miss, hello, can I add you on WeChat?”
Yun Suisui politely declined, “Sorry, I don’t really use WeChat.”
The young man left immediately after being rejected.
Yun Suisui lowered her head to look at the campus map in her hand.
A senior student approached her eagerly, “Hello, are you looking for the registration office? I know the way; I can take you there.”
“I’ll take her,” said a tall man standing nearby, looking at the senior who was courting Yun Suisui.
