Chapter 55: The Art of Qimen Dunjia from the Sect (Part Two)
When Li Chengfeng lifted the curse from Ye Wuming, he returned to normal. Having endured the diminishing curse for so long, his body was weak and needed time to fully recover.
Ye Wuming’s face lit up with joy as he hurriedly touched himself; the once-retracted treasure had returned. Overwhelmed with happiness, tears streamed down his face—finally, he could be a normal man again.
But after the initial joy, the painful experiences of the past month caused his body to tremble involuntarily. Fear gripped his heart, leaving no courage to resent Li Chengfeng—he was truly terrified.
Ye Wuming was a shrewd man. He realized that although Li Chengfeng currently operated only a modest Fate Hall, with his skills, his future achievements and connections would be beyond measure.
His deep gaze fixed on Li Chengfeng, now well aware of his unfathomable methods. He understood clearly that such a man must be befriended, never opposed.
To have such a foe would be a nightmare—destroyed without knowing how, possibly dragging one’s family into ruin, ending the lineage.
With this thought, Ye Wuming revered Li Chengfeng like a deity, speaking in a flattering tone.
“Mr. Li, from now on, I, Ye Wuming, am willing to serve you like a beast of burden, obeying your every command with no second thoughts.”
“Enough, go ahead. Just don’t seek revenge, and I’ll be satisfied,” Li Chengfeng said coldly, not even glancing at Ye Wuming as he gave the order to leave.
Ye Wuming looked awkward. Had he been an ordinary man, he would have sought vengeance without hesitation. But now, having experienced the curse’s horrors firsthand, he dared not think of retaliation.
“Mr. Li, even if you gave me ten courage points, I wouldn’t dare seek revenge. If you ever need anything, just command me—whatever I can do, I won’t refuse.”
Li Chengfeng remained silent, his expression icy. He truly did not want such a servant.
Seeing Li Chengfeng ignore him, Ye Wuming sighed and prepared to leave. Just as he reached the door, he suddenly stopped, remembering something, and turned back.
“Mr. Li, there is one more thing I must tell you. My cousin Ye Nugang and a man from the island nation have arrived in Qingzhou City.”
“That islander is formidable, apparently one of the top ten Feng Shui masters of the Ninth Chrysanthemum School, named Sato Kenichi. His purpose here is to find who removed the thorn locust tree from the Ye family ancestral grave.”
“Mr. Li, you must be on high alert!”
Ye Wuming already suspected Li Chengfeng was the one who had the thorn locust tree removed from the Ye family grave.
Li Chengfeng’s gaze grew complex as he stared at Ye Wuming, puzzled by the warning. Since it was offered with goodwill, he could not simply dismiss it coldly.
“Hm, I understand.”
The mention of one of the top ten Feng Shui masters of the Ninth Chrysanthemum School brought a sneer to Li Chengfeng’s lips. He already guessed that this Sato Kenichi was likely the one who planted the thorn locust tree at the Ye ancestral grave.
Li Chengfeng had never held even a shred of fondness for islanders, especially those from the Ninth Chrysanthemum School. He recalled that the two islanders who applied the Earth Fiend Cow-Splitting Technique in Wang Bin’s village were likely of the same school.
Li Chengfeng snorted coldly. If Sato Kenichi didn’t come, fine. But if he dared to invite trouble, he would let him experience the power of forbidden folk arts firsthand.
Instantly, a forbidden folk ritual came to mind—the living funeral, where the living escort the deceased.
Though Li Chengfeng disliked using forbidden arts against others, islanders were hardly human in his eyes.
Ye Wuming continued in a flattering tone.
“Mr. Li, if anything else arises, I will inform you. I must take my leave first.”
Li Chengfeng nodded faintly, his dislike lessening somewhat.
Seeing the response, Ye Wuming was delighted, smiling broadly as he turned and left Fate Hall with two bodyguards. Once seated in the car, one guard frowned.
“Brother, that guy is way too arrogant. Should I gather some brothers and take him down?”
“If you even think about it again, I’ll take you down first.”
“From now on, be polite when you meet Mr. Li. He’s someone we can’t afford to offend, got it?”
“Don’t be fooled by his current low profile as a Feng Shui master. Soon, he’ll be a big shot beyond our reach.”
When Ye Wuming said this, his heart was full of respect. He seemed to see Li Chengfeng’s glorious future and believed that following him would raise his own status as well.
Li Chengfeng’s actions once again amazed Ye Mengyao, who now regarded him as a godlike figure, her eyes full of admiration and affection.
Though he was not strikingly handsome, his unique aura deeply attracted her.
When she first met Li Chengfeng, she had only disdain and suspicion, thinking him a fraud. Now she had become his devoted admirer.
After Ye Wuming left, Ye Mengyao softly parted her red lips, her voice gentle and flowing.
“Mr. Li, my father is hosting a banquet at Wanghai Pavilion tonight and wishes to invite you. Are you available?”
“I’ll decide tonight. I have other matters now.”
“Very well.”
Li Chengfeng spoke without even looking at Ye Mengyao, leaving her feeling rather disappointed.
Standing nearby, Wang Bin observed Ye Mengyao’s expression and realized she had feelings for Li Chengfeng. He sighed helplessly, realizing he had no chance.
What a pity—Li Chengfeng was utterly oblivious to romance. With a beauty before him, he remained unaware, missing her sincere heart.
At the door, Li Chengfeng glanced at Wang Bin.
“Binzi, bring me my Sanhe compass.”
“Oh!”
Given the cat corpse could strike at any moment, preparations were necessary. He planned to set up the Six Ding, Six Jia, Six Yin, Six Yang, and Twelve Divine Generals protective formation at the entrance of Fate Hall.
Li Chengfeng stood seriously at the door, holding the Sanhe compass. He occasionally glanced at the compass, sometimes at the right side of the doorway, calculating the positions of the Six Ding deities. His fingers moved continuously, performing hand seals and murmuring incantations.
“Six Ding are Yin, Six Jia are Yang; six Yin deities, six Yang deities, twelve divine generals each at their posts, protect me.”
“The six Ding deities: at Dingmao, General Sima Qing; Dingwei, General Shi Shutong; Dingyou, General Zang Wengong; Dinghai, General Zhang Wentong; Dingchou, General Zhao Ziren; Dingsi, General Cui Shiqing. Six commanders guarding six directions.”
“Divine spirits, return to your places!”
With the Sanhe compass in hand, Li Chengfeng intoned each deity’s position and name. His hand gestures shifted accordingly, pointing to the corresponding locations.
Each time a position was correctly identified, a flash of azure light streaked by, revealing a divine general clad in blue armor, wielding a celestial weapon, standing majestically for a moment before vanishing.
When Li Chengfeng located all Six Ding positions and shouted “Divine spirits, return to your places,” six divine generals appeared simultaneously, bathed in blue light, hovering briefly before disappearing.
Those without the Heavenly Eye, like Wang Bin and Ye Mengyao, naturally could not see this scene.
Ye Mengyao silently watched Li Chengfeng, her eyes full of curiosity, eager to understand his actions but too shy to interrupt.
Wang Bin, however, wore a puzzled expression. Watching Li Chengfeng point and mutter, he thought he looked like a madman. He wondered if this was really the Qi Men Dun Jia technique Li Chengfeng mentioned.
Could it be that randomly pointing and muttering was the art of Qi Men Dun Jia? That seemed too casual.
