"Slow down! You're crazy, Yan Peng, slow down!" Zhou Chen grabbed the handle above the car door and shouted urgently at Yan Peng.

Yan Peng was acting like a madman, driving at over a hundred kilometers per hour in the middle of the city center. Zhou Chen was terrified; if they got into an accident, everyone in the car would be finished.

"Oh, right, right." Hearing Zhou Chen's shout, Yan Peng quickly slowed down. He had been so anxious and obsessed with getting Nan Jianlong to the hospital as fast as possible that he had just kept his foot on the accelerator.

Zhou Chen felt speechless. Even though Yan Peng was in his thirties, his mental fortitude was truly lacking; he was just like a child, panicking the moment something went wrong.

While Zhou Chen and the others were taking Nan Jianlong to the hospital, Nan Li was at home packing things up.

"Mom, you stay here and look after Huanhuan and Chaochao. I’m going to the hospital right now to see how Dad is doing."

Zhao Na sat on the sofa. The air of dominance she had shown while verbally battling the others had vanished, leaving her looking terrified and shaken. Nan Jianlong’s sudden collapse had truly frightened her.

Although they were divorced and had no feelings left for each other, they had still been married for twenty years. Regardless of the divorce, she had never actually wanted anything bad to happen to him.

"Mom? Mom?" Nan Li urged, but seeing that Zhao Na had no reaction, she walked over and wrapped an arm around her mother's shoulders. "Mom, it’s okay. Don't be afraid. Dad will be fine."

Zhao Na asked nervously, "Li Li, was it... was it me who angered him into fainting?"

Nan Li comforted her, "It’s okay, it wasn’t your fault. It was that woman. If she hadn't shown up today, this wouldn't have happened. Don't blame yourself."

Everyone had some responsibility for what happened today, but she certainly wasn't going to blame her own mother. She shifted all the blame onto Cai Juying, much like Tian Yulan did—when it came to their own mothers, they were both fiercely protective.

"Mom, Grandma, is Grandpa going to die?" Huanhuan and Chaochao came out, both with teary eyes. They had seen Nan Jianlong collapse and thought he had died.

"Don't talk nonsense." Nan Li scolded them quickly. She was already worried, and hearing this only made her feel worse. "Huanhuan, stay here with your brother and keep Grandma company. Mom is going to the hospital to see Grandpa."

She then turned to Zhao Na and said, "Mom, I’m leaving Huanhuan and Chaochao in your care. I’m going to the hospital. If there’s any news, I’ll call you immediately."

"Good, good, hurry, go quickly." Zhao Na urged her, "You are his biological daughter; many things will require you to step in. Go, and make sure you have enough money with you."

"I know, Mom. I'm going now." Nan Li packed a few things hastily, not even changing her clothes, and walked out with her bag.

As she drove out of the residential complex, she saw Tian Yulan standing at the intersection, frantically waving for a taxi. She gritted her teeth but pulled the car over anyway.

*Beep-beep...*

Tian Yulan was standing by the side of the road. Because there hadn't been enough room in Yan Peng’s car, she had been left behind. She had been trying to hail a cab, but ten minutes had passed without any luck. Just as she was losing patience, she saw Nan Li’s car pull up, and the window rolled down.

"Get in."

Tian Yulan hesitated for two seconds before finally opening the door and climbing in.

"We don't need to talk about what just happened. Let's just get to the hospital first." Without giving Tian Yulan a chance to speak, Nan Li started the car and pressed down on the gas.

Tian Yulan muttered to herself but didn't argue back. Compared to fighting, Nan Jianlong’s safety was more important right now. No matter how dissatisfied she was, Nan Jianlong had been good to her, and she truly didn't want anything to happen to him.

Guided by Zhou Chen, Yan Peng quickly reached the nearest hospital. Zhou Chen didn't hesitate; he got out, hoisted Nan Jianlong onto his back, and rushed into the emergency room.

Once inside, the duty nurse heard that someone had collapsed and that the patient’s condition wasn't good, so she immediately called for a doctor and wheeled him into the resuscitation room.

"You guys go register and pay the fees first." Zhou Chen was about to go, but upon checking his pockets, he realized he didn't have his phone. He had to have Yan Peng go with him, leaving Cai Juying alone at the entrance of the resuscitation room.

After registering and depositing some money, Zhou Chen and Yan Peng returned to wait outside. About twenty minutes later, Nan Li and Tian Yulan rushed over.

When Nan Li arrived, she asked Zhou Chen, "Honey, how is my dad?"

"I don't know. They took him into the resuscitation room, and there’s been no word yet."

Tian Yulan was busy comforting Cai Juying. Cai Juying had been crying non-stop since Nan Jianlong went into the resuscitation room. Zhou Chen and Yan Peng hadn't known how to comfort her, but now that Tian Yulan was there, the mother and daughter hugged each other and wept.

After an anxious wait, the doors to the resuscitation room finally opened.

"Who is the patient's family?"

"I'm his daughter." "I am, I'm his wife."

Nan Li and Cai Juying were the quickest to react, rushing toward the doctor.

"He's out of danger, but he hasn't woken up yet. His situation was indeed very critical. We don't know exactly what happened, but it seems he collapsed suddenly. His heart condition isn't great. Although he is no longer in danger, he needs to be hospitalized for observation for a few days. Go handle the paperwork."

Hearing the doctor's words, Zhou Chen and the others breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness he was okay; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

With the crisis averted, they put aside their previous arguments. Cai Juying and the others followed the doctors as they wheeled Nan Jianlong to a ward, while Zhou Chen accompanied Nan Li to handle the admission paperwork.

On the way, Nan Li called her mother, Zhao Na, who also sighed with relief upon hearing the news.

And so, the "War of the Century" between the ex-wife and the current wife ended with Nan Jianlong being angered into a faint.

By late evening, Nan Jianlong had regained consciousness. Zhou Chen and Nan Li stayed at the hospital until nightfall before leaving, with Cai Juying staying behind to look after him.

On the way back, Nan Li still felt lingering fear. Today's events had been a series of unfortunate accidents. She had intended to call her father and Tian Yulan to take Cai Juying home, but who would have thought that her mother, Zhao Na, would arrive at that exact moment and run into Cai Juying? That was what triggered the shouting match and the physical confrontation.

The situation was almost resolved when Tian Yulan arrived at the worst possible time, escalating the conflict from two elderly people to a dispute between three families, even drawing out neighbors to watch.

They had suffered indignity and lost face, but compared to Nan Jianlong's safety, none of that mattered. Fortunately, he was fine; otherwise, Nan Li would have blamed herself to death. After all, she was the one who had called her father to come over, so she bore most of the responsibility.

What could Zhou Chen say? He could only comfort Nan Li, telling her that it wasn't entirely her fault—it was just that the situation escalated suddenly and coincidentally, leading to this tragedy.

Privately, however, he was struck by the irony. He had hired a tutor, hoping to resolve the conflict between the two families over school quotas, yet it had somehow triggered an even worse situation that had landed Nan Jianlong in the hospital.

Sure enough, whenever a legal wife and a mistress collided, nothing good ever came of it. Though this time, it was Nan Jianlong who suffered the consequences.
