Love at First Sight Chapter 69 What Should I Do
Zun Yi kept his eyes closed, kissing her face fervently, like a ravenous wolf eager to devour his little lamb. Suddenly, his mouth filled with the taste of salt. He opened his eyes to see Wen Yueqing sobbing even harder. Her hair was now a disheveled mess, and her hair ornaments hung askew, half-fallen. Seeing the pain etched across her face, Zun Yi finally stopped himself.
"I can't do this," he muttered, regaining a shred of reason in that instant. Hastily, he donned his robe and stumbled off the bed in a fluster.
"Ah... this is unbearable," Zun Yi cried, slapping his thigh in deep distress.
By now, Wen Yueqing had sat up. She hurriedly straightened her clothes and pulled the quilt over herself. Tears shimmered in her eyes as she looked at the maddened Zun Yi before her, completely at a loss for what to do next.
As she hesitated, Zun Yi returned to the bedside, and Wen Yueqing instinctively edged away.
"Your Highness, please, stay back. I beg you," she pleaded, shaking her head and crying.
At that moment, Zun Yi tossed his belt onto the bed. Wen Yueqing stared at him, wide-eyed, unsure of his intentions.
"Use this... tie me to the table leg. Quickly... now... I fear I truly won't be able to control myself much longer," Zun Yi said, panting heavily, enunciating each word.
He was absolutely right—right now, he was relying on sheer willpower. If his body’s desire should overpower his reason, he truly wouldn’t be able to restrain himself any longer. In truth, reaching this point had already pushed him to the very brink, both physically and mentally.
With those words, he staggered to the table, swaying as he sat down. He turned to Wen Yueqing, "Hurry, come and tie my hands."
Only then did Wen Yueqing snap out of her daze. She too stood up, legs weak and shaky, and slowly made her way over.
Her legs were so feeble she could barely stand, and she felt a growing wetness below; her undergarments were damp, and there was more and more moisture trickling down. The gnawing sensation was relentless, and she finally understood Zun Yi’s desperation to have himself bound.
Wen Yueqing was suffering as well. In her mind, a black devil kept tempting her, urging her to surrender herself, to give in to pleasure—wouldn’t it be better to simply enjoy the moment? After all, she was from the 21st century; what did it matter to let go? Why not relish the happiness before her?
But at the same time, a little white angel circled her thoughts, constantly reminding her to protect herself, to resist temptation, to not do anything foolish she’d regret.
For reasons she couldn’t explain, whenever she thought of that little angel, the image of Zun You would appear—his mischievous yet sweet smile looping endlessly in her mind. Yes, there was still Zun You, who liked her, who treated her with such kindness and care. She absolutely could not betray him.
Gripping the belt, Wen Yueqing tightly secured Zun Yi’s hands to the table leg, making sure he was no longer a threat. Only then did she turn and walk back to the bed, barely able to support herself—she needed to lie down and rest, even for a moment.
She believed Tong’er would surely notice something amiss and come looking for her, and that Zun You would come to her rescue.
Tong’er waited anxiously in the room, her heart pounding. That eunuch’s gaze had been strange, and she’d never seen him in the front courtyard before. Though he claimed the Fifth Prince had sent him, this was, after all, the Third Prince’s residence. The Fifth Prince calling Wen Yueqing away alone—such a situation between a man and a woman would surely damage Miss Qing’s reputation if word got out.
Uneasy, Tong’er bit her lip and sighed. "No, I have to go check. It’s been nearly half an hour; I must find Miss Qing."
Earlier, she had vaguely heard the eunuch say the Fifth Prince was in the small garden. So she pushed open the door, lantern in hand, and hurried toward the garden.
Upon arrival, she saw no sign of the Fifth Prince or Wen Yueqing. Growing anxious, she circled the area, searching frantically. Suddenly, she noticed a faint glow from a side room that was usually unoccupied.
Tong’er frowned. "That can’t be right; that room’s been abandoned for ages. I’ve never seen anyone go in. Why is there suddenly a light tonight?"
As she pondered, a figure in eunuch’s garb peeked out from beside the house, glancing furtively into the distance before quickly making his way to the door. His hands moved up and down as if unlocking it, then, sneaky and secretive, he hurried away.
Tong’er took a few steps in that direction, but before she’d gone far, she saw Zun You striding over, his expression icy cold. In all her time at the residence, she’d never seen him like this. The urgency in his stride made Tong’er’s hair stand on end.
"Oh no... could the ones locked inside that room really be the Fifth Prince and Miss Qing?" she whispered, heart sinking. "This is bad, really bad. If that’s true, not even the Yellow River could wash Miss Qing’s name clean."
With that thought, she resolved to rush over and warn them. If she could alert Miss Qing in time for her to escape, all the better.
She hurried toward the side room, but just as she was about to push open the door, Zun You’s voice rang out behind her.
"Tong’er? What are you doing here?" His voice was cold, tinged with anger, and his face was anxious.
His cold gaze fixed on her, and Tong’er froze, lowering her head in a panic. How was she to explain this? She felt her legs trembling, her whole body rigid with fear.
"Your Highness... why are you here?" she stammered, unable to think of a better answer.
"Why? Am I not supposed to be here?" Zun You replied, the fire in his voice barely concealed.
He hadn’t believed it at first, but seeing Tong’er there now, looking so guilty, made his heart sink.
Zun You’s eyes locked on the door before him; for a moment, he didn’t know what to do. He slowly raised his hand. "Should I push it open and go in?" He hesitated, torn.
"If I really see something I don’t want to face, what then?" He let his hand drop, lost in indecision.
