Chapter 112: The Exchange Function (Part II)

Seeing Tao Ming looking dejected, Su Nanxing ruffled her hair and said, "Let's first see what is inside."

Tao Ming felt a tightness in her chest. "Xingxing, how do I click on this?"

Xingxing replied with extreme docility, "You can just use voice commands. I will open it for you right now."

A list of daily necessities immediately appeared. It was densely packed with text, but only a small portion was in black, while the vast majority remained grey.

Su Nanxing scanned the list and read the black text from top to bottom: "Soap, scented soap, laundry powder, toothbrushes, toothpaste, glass cups. For now, only these six items can be redeemed."

Tao Ming was speechless. Su Nanxing comforted her, "These items would definitely sell for a good price in Weishui."

Tao Ming sighed and said, "Go back to the main menu and see what else there is."

"The fourth line: Home Improvement and Building Materials. Click for details."

"The fifth line: Home Furnishings and Textiles. Click for details."

Tao Ming felt like banging her head against a wall. She groaned and complained, "I only brought a few emergency lights, and it gives me home improvement materials? I brought a few summer quilts, and it gives me home furnishings?"

"What about my smartphone and tablet? Why isn't there a category for digital products?"

Su Nanxing looked at the list carefully and replied, "There actually is a category for digital products, but it is further down and still greyed out."

Tao Ming resigned herself to fate. "What else is there?"

"The sixth line: Solutions to Difficult Problems. One hundred million energy points per solution."

Tao Ming’s eyes lit up; this sounded somewhat reliable. She asked, "Xingxing, what are energy points?"

Xingxing opened the storeroom door, and a small white bag floated out, hovering before Tao Ming.

Tao Ming recognized the bag immediately. When she opened it, she found red and purple crystal coins inside. It was the money bag Su Nanxing had given her earlier.

Tao Ming took out a red crystal coin and asked, "Are these the energy points?"

"Energy points vary from world to world. In Weishui, energy points are various types of crystal coins."

Tao Ming tossed the red crystal coin in her hand. "Xingxing, I just realized you're a money-grubber. Aren't you just forcing me to go out and earn money?"

Xingxing thought to itself, *How am I the one forcing you to earn money? It is clearly Emperor Nanxing who is forcing you to earn money!* However, it could not say that, so it remained silent.

Seeing that Xingxing did not reply, Tao Ming asked, "Tell me how energy points are calculated."

Xingxing continued, "One white crystal coin equals one energy point. The exchange rates for other colored coins are the same as those in Weishui."

Tao Ming recalled the sixth line she had just heard—one hundred million energy points for a solution—and ground her teeth. "Xingxing, isn't this solution way too expensive? Where am I supposed to get that much money!"

"The redeemed solutions are guaranteed to resolve the problem completely. It is absolutely worth the price."

Tao Ming decided to pretend that option did not exist.

Su Nanxing looked at the list, lost in thought. He felt as though he had seen something similar before, but he could not quite recall where.

Tao Ming took out a packet of hot pot seasoning and asked, "Xingxing, can this be replicated?"

"The category for hot pot seasoning is currently unlocked. The energy cost for replication is doubled."

Tao Ming recalled the price of the seasoning and asked, "About how much would that be?"

"It requires ten energy points."

Tao Ming was delighted. When she first bought it, a single packet cost over ten yuan. Now, at double the cost, it was only ten energy points. It seemed replication was quite cheap after all.

She then took out a glass cup and asked, "Then how many energy points to replicate a glass cup?"

"One energy point can replicate two identical glass cups."

The price for the glass cup was similar to wholesale prices, just slightly cheaper. However, replicating them directly was far more convenient than running back to Earth to buy them in bulk. It seemed she would have to make another trip to buy all sorts of things to keep in stock, just in case she needed them one day.

Tao Ming turned to look at Su Nanxing. Seeing him staring blankly at the list with a deep frown, she called out to him. When there was no response, she waved her hand in front of his eyes, which finally brought him back to his senses. She asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Su Nanxing thought it was best not to tell her and worry her. He smiled gently and said, "I was just studying what other fun things might be in there."

Tao Ming felt a bit discouraged. "I thought that unlocking the exchange function would provide some long-lost, incredible cultivation techniques that would allow me to reach the pinnacle of life. I never expected it to be like this."

Su Nanxing kissed her forehead to comfort her. "Aren't you planning to build a shopping mall? All these things will come in handy."

Tao Ming nodded. "That makes sense. Thinking about it that way, I'm actually quite looking forward to the future!"

Seeing that Tao Ming’s spirits had lifted, Su Nanxing said, "Let's go out and see. They must be getting impatient."

Tao Ming instructed Xingxing, "Xingxing, keep an eye on the two little ones for me. If I bring other people in later, make sure you don't speak."

Xingxing replied eagerly, "Don't worry, I understand."

Tao Ming and Su Nanxing stepped out of the "Dou Zhuan Xing Yi" (Space-Time Realm). Su Fang winked and teased, "Seventeenth Brother, why did you two go off and hide?"

Tao Ming looked at the six people before her. Qin Yunjue and Qin Yunqi were from the Qin family; Su Fang and Su Pei were from the Su family; Wen Youfang would be working for her in the future, and his mother was still unconscious. She scanned the living room and whispered, "Come closer."

The Qin and Su families immediately walked over to Tao Ming. Wen Youfang hesitated for a moment before staying put.

Tao Ming waved at Wen Youfang. "You come over, too."

Wen Youfang then walked over and stood behind Su Fang.

Tao Ming lowered her voice and said, "Just now, when I was holding Ruanruan in the bedroom, I felt like someone was peeping."

Su Fang whispered, "Sister-in-law, given your current strength, it shouldn't be that sensitive."

Tao Ming didn't like the sound of that, but she was too lazy to tell him that her power had already increased significantly. She replied, "You probably don't understand a woman's sixth sense. Any woman, even if someone is peeping from behind her, can feel it. It's an innate talent."

Su Fang opened his mouth but had nothing to say, thinking to himself that he wasn't married and indeed didn't know much about women.

Seeing that he had stopped talking, Tao Ming continued, "I'm going to take you all to a place that is absolutely safe. Does anyone have any living creatures in their treasure bags?"

Qin Yunjue replied, "I brought a few dragon horses."

Qin Yunqi shook his head.

Su Fang replied, "I brought a few birds."

Su Pei added, "I only ever carry seeds when I go out."

Hearing that they only had a few here and there—certainly fewer than thirty-six—Tao Ming looked at Wen Youfang and said, "Mr. Wen, carry the old lady on your back. We are going in now."

Wen Youfang did as he was told, hoisting the old lady onto his back. With a thought from Tao Ming, everyone was transported into the space.

Tao Ming led them into the living room of the small villa. After steadying himself, Su Fang exclaimed, "Sister-in-law, the spiritual energy here is so dense! Is it like this in the other world as well?"

Tao Ming wanted to provoke him a bit. "Yes, the people in the other world are all very powerful. You had better cultivate diligently, or you might end up being rubbed against the floor when we get there."

Su Fang looked confused. "What does 'rubbed against the floor' mean?"

Su Nanxing laughed. "It means being pinned to the ground and beaten."

Su Fang immediately said, "Sister-in-law, then let me come here to cultivate from now on."

Except for Wen Youfang, the others also chimed in, "We want to cultivate here, too."
