At that moment, Shang Yunjie was also staring at her calf in excitement. The dull ache she had felt before had completely vanished, as if it had never happened at all.

"This is wonderful! I knew I was right to trust you, Lu Hao. You truly are a divine physician," Shang Yunjie said sincerely, giving Lu Hao a hearty thumbs-up.

Lu Hao smiled and nodded. "Miss Shang, any patient under my care, I keep my word."

Upon hearing this, Shang Yunjie sprang to her feet, overwhelmed with emotion, and gave Lu Hao a big hug.

"I can hardly believe it—there isn't even a scar left," she exclaimed, her eyes shining with tears of joy.

She didn't notice the slightly awkward expression on Lu Hao's face as she embraced him. He was suddenly aware of the soft warmth and the strong feminine fragrance that radiated from her, feeling at a loss for what to do.

Miss Shang certainly had a fiery and uninhibited personality—no wonder she got along so well with those Western assistants of hers.

"Well, do you believe in my medical skills now?" she said proudly, turning to look at Dr. Seth.

"Dr. Seth, can the most advanced skin treatment technology in Germany match the effect of his medicine?" she asked confidently.

But Dr. Seth paid her no heed at all, his gaze fixed fervently on the jar of medicine Lu Hao had just used.

"I admit defeat. This watch—I can give it to you. But, Mr. Lu, I only hope you can give me the rest of that medicine," Dr. Seth said, excitement making his hands tremble as he removed his emerald-green Rolex and handed it to Lu Hao.

The watch was a deep green all over, with a crystal-clear dial, diamonds set around the bezel, and a 904 stainless steel strap. It was clearly brand new and worth a fortune.

However, Lu Hao did not immediately accept the watch. Instead, he cradled his jar of medicine in his arms.

"Heh, I'm sorry, Mr. Seth, but I’m afraid that watch on your wrist isn't nearly as valuable as the formula in this jar," Lu Hao said.

Seth’s expression changed instantly. Indeed, his intentions had been seen through by Lu Hao.

What he truly wanted was the formula for the medicine in Lu Hao’s jar. If he could acquire this secret recipe, capable of healing a massive laceration within half an hour, then with his influence, all he would need to do is patent the drug and sell it. The yearly profits could easily reach trillions.

His name would go down in the annals of medical history, and he would be recognized as a master not just in Germany, but throughout Europe.

The more Seth thought about it, the more excited he became. He was desperate to obtain the formula from Lu Hao, but Lu Hao’s response poured cold water over his hopes.

"Dr. Lu, I admit I was a bit abrupt just now," Seth said, trying to compose himself. "But would you name your price for the formula? And as for the Rolex, if you like it, I have a wardrobe full of them at home, all yours."

Lu Hao shook his head. "This is an heirloom from my ancestors. It’s meant to save lives, but handing it to you would be a betrayal of my teachers and forebears—a grave transgression."

"Absolutely not."

Shang Yunjie, standing by, glanced thoughtfully at Lu Hao and said, "Mr. Lu, you’re right. Our country's treasures shouldn’t be given away so easily."

"How about this, Mr. Seth: there’s no need for your Rolex. I’ll have someone personally select an identical limited edition for Lu Hao, and buy him a car as well, as a token of gratitude. What do you think?"

At that, Seth’s face changed dramatically. He looked at Shang Yunjie with seriousness. "Miss Shang, I’m nearly seventy years old. I don’t care much for worldly wealth anymore."

"My only wish is to explore the highest realms of medicine, to heal as many as I can."

"I want his formula so that I might save people all over the world."

Lu Hao shook his head. "Dr. Seth, you speak too broadly. If a single formula could save thousands across the globe, I would gladly donate it without hesitation. But the world isn’t so simple, and your words diminish the hard work of countless medical professionals everywhere."

"No single remedy can save the world."

Lu Hao calmly put his jar of medicine away.

Seth was clearly unwilling to give up and pleaded repeatedly, even going so far as to offer Lu Hao the company of his Western assistants for a month, but Lu Hao still refused to hand over the medicine.

In the end, Dr. Seth could only leave in anger. Needless to say, he never did give Lu Hao the Rolex, and that very day he departed the country, flying straight back to Germany.

Nevertheless, Shang Yunjie had already arranged for someone to buy a replacement for Lu Hao.

Just before boarding the helicopter, Shang Yunjie stood to Lu Hao’s right, now dressed in a long, vibrant red gown, as radiant and beautiful as a rose in the manor garden.

"Lu Hao, thank you. If not for you, I really might have..." A gentle breeze tousled her bangs, lending her a fragile, dreamy air.

"It’s nothing. Practicing medicine to save lives was my original intent when I chose this path," Lu Hao replied earnestly.

Shang Yunjie handed him a bank card once again. "Alright. But I still must pay your consultation fee. There’s five hundred thousand in this card. The password is..." she began.

"This is a phone linked to the card. You can use it for mobile payments anytime. The username is in my name," Shang Yunjie said, lowering her head.

"Thank you, Miss Shang." Lu Hao accepted the card, not bothering with further courtesy. For an injury like Shang Yunjie’s, even five hundred thousand wouldn’t have been enough to bring Dr. Seth to the country.

The amount was already considerate of Lu Hao’s financial situation, and only after his insistence that he didn’t want too much for fear it would affect his mindset as a healer.

"I promised you before, I’d buy you a new car. What kind do you like?" Shang Yunjie asked, studying his face closely. She suddenly realized that Lu Hao, so young and handsome, was far better looking and more imposing than any male model she’d ever met.

"There’s no need for a car, is there?" Lu Hao said, puzzled.

"No, I insist. This is gratitude from the entire Shang Corporation, not just myself," Shang Yunjie replied.

"In that case, a Wuling Hongguang will do. With that, I can convert it into an ambulance if needed, and on ordinary days, I can use it to carry supplies and medicine," Lu Hao said, waving his hand nonchalantly.
