At this moment, Lu Hao was in no hurry to accept the money. Instead, he calmly placed his hand on the man's wrist, beginning his assessment of the patient's condition.

“Not very optimistic,” Lu Hao shook his head. “You've indulged in too many affairs over the years, and it's damaged your foundation.”

“This is more than just a simple prostate problem.”

The middle-aged fat man became visibly agitated. “I beg you, Dr. Lu, whatever the cost, I'm willing to pay it. Please, just cure me.”

He had heard rumors about Lu Hao, especially stories of wealthy families flying helicopters to invite Lu Hao to treat them. With a doctor of this caliber, he had hurried to seek treatment.

Now, his gaze was filled with hope as he looked at Lu Hao, wishing for a cure.

Lu Hao nodded. “Don't worry. Since you've come to me—”

Just as Lu Hao finished speaking, an unexpected visitor stepped into his clinic.

“Well, I never thought you'd actually dare to open a clinic!”

It was Zhou Run, the son of the village chief’s family to whom Lu Hao's family owed money. He brought another doctor with him: Xu Fan.

Previously, Chen Fan had been severely reprimanded by Lu Hao at the First People's Hospital, resulting in the loss of all his bonuses and performance pay, which left him resentful and eager for revenge.

He hadn't expected to see the middle-aged fat man sitting in front of Lu Hao's desk as soon as he entered.

“Fat Sun! It's you! What are you doing here?” Zhou Run exclaimed, his face full of surprise.

“Didn’t Young Master Sun already give strict orders to bar everyone in Peach Blossom Village from visiting Lu Hao's clinic for at least a year?”

“The order was just issued a few days ago, and you, as the construction manager under Young Master Zhou, are disobeying it? If I recall, Lu Hao’s father used to work under you, didn’t he?”

Upon hearing this, Fat Sun's face turned pale.

He immediately turned to Lu Hao, his face flushed with anger. “Lu Hao, I gave you a chance. Don’t be ungrateful. Within three days, you must shut down this Azure Dragon Clinic.”

With that, Fat Sun got up, his expression changing faster than flipping a page. He looked at Zhou Run and said, “Young Master Zhou, you're mistaken.”

“I came specifically on Young Master Sun’s orders to warn him not to continue operating.”

As Fat Sun spoke, his face was visibly trembling.

Lu Hao glanced at the two men and instantly understood why Fat Sun had been so furtive earlier, frequently peeking outside and insisting his visit be kept secret.

So, he was originally one of Sun Wen Guo’s men! Yet he sought Lu Hao’s medical skill for his own benefit.

Now, his sudden change in attitude was clearly out of fear that Sun Wen Guo would discover he had come for treatment.

“Is that so?” Zhou Run, the local tyrant, showed some suspicion.

“Of course. I bear nothing but enmity toward this kid. I’d smash his clinic right now if I could,” the middle-aged fat man said fiercely, making a show of loyalty.

He glanced at Lu Hao again, his eyes full of hints and hidden grievances, as if silently pleading his helplessness.

“That makes sense. After all, you used to slap Lu Hao’s father around on the construction site. There’s no way this kid would ever treat you,” Zhou Run added casually.

Lu Hao felt his anger flare instantly.

So, his father, Lu Wei Guo, had been injured on the construction site and received not a cent in compensation, nearly losing his life, all while working under this fat man.

This middle-aged man lived in luxury, while his own father was gaunt and could barely afford a few leaves of greens.

“Ah! You!” The fat man grew anxious, pointing at Zhou Run.

But Zhou Run’s father was the village chief, and he was Sun Wen Guo’s childhood friend and lackey. Fat Sun didn’t dare do anything to him.

“Hmph!” the fat man snorted angrily, swept up the money from the table, and left without looking back.

Lu Hao watched the fat man’s retreating figure, memorizing him—he would deal with him sooner or later.

Then Lu Hao turned his gaze toward Zhou Run.

“What’s going on? Why are you here? Are you ill yourselves?” Lu Hao removed his stethoscope and stood up.

Seeing Lu Hao stand, Zhou Run became frightened and quickly took two steps back.

He still remembered vividly how Lu Hao had broken both of Sun Wen Guo’s arms right in front of him.

He’d been there at the scene, not far away.

Moreover, rumor had it Lu Hao now knew influential people and had powerful backing.

He needed to be cautious.

“Lu Hao, I’m here today to tell you you’d better stop running this clinic. You don’t have proper medical qualifications or a license. Continuing will only harm yourself.”

He glanced at Xu Fan, signaling him to speak.

Xu Fan produced his medical license and began to walk around Lu Hao’s clinic. After only a few steps, he deliberately furrowed his brows.

“Lu Hao, this clinic of yours is really subpar.”

“Whether it’s hygiene, equipment, or paperwork, everything is incomplete and inadequate. I order you to shut down for rectification immediately, or I’ll report you to the health authorities.”

Lu Hao laughed and stood up. “Xu Fan? What’s wrong? I had no idea you’d suddenly become a health bureau inspector.”

Xu Fan clasped his hands behind his back, displaying a look of disdain.

“Regardless, I am a legitimate doctor at the First People’s Hospital, and you’re just a small-time clinic physician. How dare you defy me?”

A smile curled at Xu Fan’s lips.

Lu Hao replied coldly, “I can only say, Xu Fan, the lesson you received last time wasn’t harsh enough, or you wouldn’t dare come here spouting nonsense.”

Xu Fan stared at Lu Hao, saying nothing.

He had come with Zhou Run to find trouble for Lu Hao because he’d received a large sum from Sun Wen Guo. Taking money, he couldn’t refuse.

Sun Wen Guo had instructed him that, whatever happened, he had to make Lu Hao’s life difficult—at the very least, drop by every few days to harass him and make sure his clinic couldn’t operate.
