Having resolved the matter of the Jade Festival, Lin Feng prepared to leave Yuntai City and return to Binhai City.

Zheng Xuance volunteered to stay behind to oversee the reconstruction of the underground palace secret realm. Compared to the mortal Wang Jisheng, Zheng Xuance, a disciple of the Three Pure Ones Sect, possessed a far deeper understanding of formations.

With him supervising the renovation, Lin Feng felt much more at ease and readily agreed.

Thus, Lin Feng set off for Binhai City alongside Wang Jisheng and Luo Qiankun.

This trip to Yunfeng Mountain had indeed been fruitful. They had obtained more than a dozen millennium-old spiritual artifacts, along with over a hundred various ordinary spiritual plants and items.

Most importantly, Lin Feng uncovered a monumental secret—the revival of spiritual energy!

In ancient times, a great sage had cast the divine technique "Absolute Heavenly Severance," completely severing Earth's connection to the outside world. This was the reason Earth’s spiritual energy gradually depleted, eventually descending into the Age of Lawlessness.

Now, after tens of thousands of years, the sage’s divine technique was beginning to unravel.

Before long, Earth would experience a comprehensive resurgence of spiritual energy.

When the tide of spiritual energy returns, the entire global landscape would be overturned. If Lin Feng could assemble a strong foundation and power before this revival, he could rise ahead of others, defying the current trend and ascending to the pinnacle of power in this great era.

...

After more than half a day of rough travel, Lin Feng and company finally arrived back in Binhai City.

As the three stepped out of the train station, Wang Haiyang hurried down from his vehicle, wearing a complex expression as he approached.

He bowed deeply to Lin Feng, then quickly pulled Wang Jisheng aside and whispered,

“Father, Second Master Tang has returned. He just announced that he’s hosting a victory banquet at the Emperor Phoenix Pavilion Hotel tonight!”

At the mention of “Second Master Tang,” Wang Jisheng froze in surprise before shouting lowly in anger,

“What! Second Master Tang is back? And he’s throwing a victory banquet? How is that possible? Old Master Tang said not to hold any celebrations for now!”

“No, this has nothing to do with Old Master Tang. After years abroad, he’s just returned. Most importantly, he specifically requested that Master Lin attend!”

“What!”

Wang Jisheng was utterly shocked.

The Jisheng Hall belonged to the Tang family, a faction under the Tang clan’s influence—an open secret in Binhai City, though few knew the details.

Back then, when the Tianlong Hall suddenly rose in Binhai, Wang Jisheng was nearly crushed to despair.

Just as Long Aoyun was about to corner him, it was the Tang family’s Second Master who intervened and saved his life.

Since then, Jisheng Hall naturally became one of Second Master Tang’s forces, surviving the most difficult times thanks to the Tang family’s support.

Later, Second Master Tang fell afoul of the law and was expelled from China by Old Master Tang, only recently returning.

Now, with Lin Feng’s help, Jisheng Hall had defeated Tianlong Hall and become the sole ruler of Binhai’s underworld, much to Second Master Tang’s delight.

However, he quickly learned that Jisheng Hall had come under Lin Feng’s command.

The force he had nurtured for so many years, just as it was about to bear fruit, was told after his absence that it no longer belonged to him.

He had been robbed!

No one would remain calm and unresentful under such circumstances.

As the saying goes, “the drunkard’s intent lies not in the wine.”

Second Master Tang’s return was aggressive, and by specifically inviting Lin Feng, the so-called victory banquet was in truth a trap.

Having cultivated for a long time, Lin Feng’s senses were extraordinarily sharp, and he naturally overheard the whispered conversation between the Wang men.

He cast a glance at Wang Jisheng, sensing something amiss, and calmly asked,

“Who exactly is this Second Master Tang?”

Wang Jisheng was taken aback, silent for a moment, then helplessly shook his head.

Knowing Lin Feng’s nature, he realized he couldn’t hide the truth and decided to be upfront.

“Master Lin, Second Master Tang is Old Master Tang’s second son. He’s outgoing and unrestrained, befriending all kinds of people from every walk of life. When I was suppressed by the Tianlong Society and had nowhere to turn, I joined under Second Master Tang’s wing. You could say the entire Jisheng Hall belongs to him. So…”

“So, this victory banquet is a pretense—really a test and an ambush?”

“Exactly. Second Master Tang specifically invited you, so it’s likely…”

“Likely a trap,” Lin Feng said flatly, his voice like still water.

This unnerved Wang Jisheng. Having been close to Lin Feng for some time, he knew the more indifferent Lin Feng acted, the more ruthless he would be when he struck.

“Master Lin, Second Master Tang once saved my life. If he disrespects you during the banquet, please spare him. I beg you!” Wang Jisheng said, even lowering himself to the point of kneeling, his tone trembling with sincerity.

Lin Feng glanced at him but did not make things difficult. Instead, he signaled Luo Qiankun with a nod.

Luo Qiankun understood immediately and helped Wang Jisheng back to his feet.

“Don’t worry. He is, after all, a Tang family member. Unless absolutely necessary, I won’t make a move. As for his true intentions, we will find out tonight.”

At eight o’clock that evening, at the Emperor Phoenix Pavilion Hotel.

Lin Feng declined Wang Jisheng’s request to accompany him personally and entered the top-floor private suite—the Imperial Hall—all by himself.

The hall was lavish and resplendent, with polished oak floors, imported genuine leather chairs, and solid wood furniture, exuding luxury.

A grand colored-glass chandelier hung from the ceiling, accompanied by a waltz and a Western-style buffet, evoking the ambiance of an upscale salon.

Even the servers moving about with trays wore high-end tailored suits. Many of Binhai City’s young elites and prominent figures mingled, forming small circles to chat and sip wine.

Lin Feng, however, dressed simply in comfortable casual wear, did not feel out of place or inferior amidst the gathering. Instead, he found it a bit dull, quietly tasting his wine alone.

Unbeknownst to him, a group of people at the banquet cast dark, venomous glances his way.

They were Qin Chao, the former heir of the Qin family; Tian Xinyu of the Tian family from Jinling; and Zhong Hui.

Since Lin Feng had wrested the heirship from Qin Chao, the latter had been consumed with thoughts of revenge.

Tian Xinyu had suffered a devastating loss of hundreds of billions in family funds after Lin Feng defeated Cheng Qianfeng in a duel, which caused Tian to lose a major bet on the side.

Zhong Hui nursed a grudge over Lin Feng breaking his arm.

The three stared at Lin Feng with murderous intent. Qin Chao, standing at the forefront, seethed with hatred, hair bristling.

“Excellent, Lin Feng! I’ve waited so long for this moment!” Qin Chao declared as he pulled out his phone and snapped a photo of Lin Feng, sending it immediately.

“Young Master Sun, it’s him! This loser who dared to lay a hand on Tang Yunyun! He’s currently in the Imperial Hall at the top floor of the Phoenix Pavilion Hotel!”

“Good. Qin Chao, I owe you one! I’ll be there right away!”

A cold, rough voice crackled through the phone, dripping with murderous intent.

Hearing this, Qin Chao’s lips curled into a ferocious grin as he pocketed the phone.

Leading Tian Xinyu and the others, they swaggered toward Lin Feng, eager to witness firsthand the brutal beating Young Master Sun would deliver to him tonight!
