Chapter 105: Learning Magic
Inside the carriage, Zhu Han groggily opened her eyes. Her head felt heavy and swollen, as if weighed down by a thousand pounds. She longed to continue sleeping, yet something was pulling at her curiosity, urging her to know what it was.
Gu Feng cast a disdainful look at Wen Xingguo and said, “Do you know? I detest bandits the most. You shouldn’t have appeared before me. Also, don’t bother repeating those clichés—talking about killing intent and imposing presence. You’re far too weak.”
Boom! A terrifying aura suddenly burst forth from Gu Feng, pressing down heavily on Wen Xingguo.
Though Gu Feng was only a level two Great Spirit Master, a notch below Wen Xingguo, his body had been fully enhanced three times by the system, making any comparison by rank meaningless.
True prodigies and geniuses always fought beyond their levels, slaying enemies above their rank and earning legendary reputations.
Wen Xingguo’s eyes widened in disbelief as he shouted furiously, “Impossible! This must be an illusion! Die, you sorcerer!”
“Master,” Zhu Han poked her little head out and saw the imposing Gu Feng and Wen Xingguo charging at him.
Miao Yun glanced at Zhu Han, then at Gu Feng with suspicion. She thought, wasn’t she supposed to wake up in a day or two? How could she be awake so soon?
Quickly, she cupped Zhu Han’s head and said, “Han’er, don’t look and don’t be afraid. Your master is here.”
“Mom, I’m not scared! I want to watch Master fight,” Zhu Han replied.
“Ah!”
“Mom, don’t worry! Han’er is fine.”
Gu Feng stared coldly at the attacking Wen Xingguo but remained unmoved, his confidence making those around him uneasy—perhaps too confident.
Long Xue’er thought Gu Feng was stunned and yelled, “You bastard, what are you doing?”
Zhu Han looked at Wen Xingguo, her eyes flashing with a strange light, then suddenly said, “Master, his left side is all show, it’s a weak spot.”
“What???”
This time, Gu Feng was the one shocked. The system confirmed there was indeed a flaw in Wen Xingguo’s defense, glaringly obvious. Though his defense appeared impenetrable, it was all for show—fragile and easily broken. But how did Zhu Han see it?
The system was equally surprised: “Good luck! Just randomly taking on a disciple and they already possess the ‘Flaw’s Eye’, a rare and formidable combat talent.”
Knowing Zhu Han had the Flaw’s Eye, Gu Feng asked, “Han’er, how did you see it?”
“Master, I don’t know. I just did,” she answered. After all, she was a child just starting cultivation and had no idea how to explain.
Though it seemed lengthy, it all happened in the blink of an eye.
Wen Xingguo heard Zhu Han’s words. Someone who could see through a person’s weaknesses was certainly a prodigy, and such a prodigy sparked his jealousy. He had to be eliminated in the cradle.
He deliberately left that weak spot exposed, prepared for what was to come.
Gu Feng sneered coldly, drawing his greatsword and striking toward Wen Xingguo’s flaw.
Wen Xingguo’s face lit up with joy. Suddenly, his blade shifted its attack, waiting for Gu Feng to come close so he could chop off his head in one stroke.
At that moment, Gu Feng unexpectedly dropped the greatsword and pulled out a long frying pan he had previously exchanged for but never discarded. With a fierce swing, he smacked Wen Xingguo’s face.
Wen Xingguo smugly thought Gu Feng had fallen for his trap, but he never expected the blow would land so solidly.
It was just an ordinary frying pan—how could it withstand such force? Though the blow was solid, the pan was ruined.
After the strike, Gu Feng tossed aside the battered pan and said to Wen Xingguo, “Don’t be angry. I never said I wanted to kill you, so why attack your weak spot? Just joking. By the way, how does the pan taste?”
Long Xue’er was stunned. Such a powerful Great Spirit Master, yet ending this way—like a street ruffian’s antics?
Zhu Han was thrilled, forgetting her headache as she jumped from the ox cart, clapping and shouting, “Master, so cool! Haha! That bad guy’s face is all black now!”
Gu Feng played along with a laugh, “Well, it’s the bottom of the pan. How could it not be black? But you must be polite and thank that bad uncle for cooperating with your master’s pan slap—otherwise, it wouldn’t have landed.”
Wen Xingguo’s breathing grew rapid and his body trembled fiercely. His eyes glared daggers at Gu Feng, as if flames could shoot from them.
When had this level three Great Spirit Master ever been so humiliated?
Gu Feng pointed at Wen Xingguo and said to Zhu Han, “See? Does this bad uncle have an asthma attack? Can you help him?”
Zhu Han’s face lit up with innocent mischief. “Master, how about slapping him two more times with the iron pan? Maybe it’ll cure him?”
Gu Feng clapped his hands excitedly. “Good! That’s a great idea.”
At the same time, he summoned a large iron pan shimmering with a pale blue glow.
Long Xue’er stared in disbelief at the iron pan in Gu Feng’s hand. Wen Xingguo was equally stunned. That pan was a spirit artifact. He was thoroughly bewildered—who on earth would waste effort making an iron pan into a spirit artifact? What use was that?
Taking advantage of Wen Xingguo’s momentary distraction, Gu Feng used Instant Flash, expending all his spiritual energy. It was no big deal for him, as his physical strength surpassed even spirit artifacts.
Instantly appearing before Wen Xingguo, Gu Feng raised the spirit iron pan and fiercely struck at Wen Xingguo’s head.
Wen Xingguo never expected Gu Feng to move with such terrifying speed, leaving no time to defend.
Bang!
The iron pan struck with the force of a spirit artifact, stars swirling in Wen Xingguo’s vision.
Gu Feng was surprised. “Huh? No explosion? I’ll hit him again.”
Bang! Bang!
Wen Xingguo finally reacted, clutching his head and roaring, “Ah!” as he desperately retreated.
Gu Feng didn’t pursue.
Zhu Han’s eyes sparkled as she shouted, “Master, did his asthma get better?”
Pfft!
Wen Xingguo spat blood as he glared furiously from afar. The blood was less from the blows and more from anger at Zhu Han’s words.
At the same time, he was secretly alarmed. Fortunately, he had trained his Iron Head Technique; otherwise, those hits would have surely cracked his skull.
In fact, the Iron Head Technique was Wen Xingguo’s trump card. Numerous times when captured by experts, it was this technique that allowed him to counterattack and survive.
As a ruthless bandit with countless enemies, many powerful, he would not have lasted without such a secret weapon.
Clearly, the Iron Head Technique had saved him again.
“Master, this bad uncle is so fun! How about we recruit him as a little brother?”
Hearing this, Gu Feng’s eyes brightened. Though Wen Xingguo was a notorious bandit, his strength was undeniable and could be useful.
So Gu Feng said to Wen Xingguo, “You heard my disciple. I’ll give you two choices: first, be killed by me; second, become my disciple’s underling.”
“Hahaha!”
Wen Xingguo laughed wildly. “A little brat who hasn’t even grown a single hair dares to take disciples and wants me as a minion? If I hadn’t been careless and allowed your sneak attack, mark my words, your death day is coming next.”
