Chapter Twenty: Turmoil (II)
He wrapped his arms around Gu Linglong’s already dazed and half-delirious body, lifted her at the waist, and hurried to the bed, stripping her bare in no time at all until she was as white and naked as a lamb.
At the sight of those delicate peaks, the flat belly, the dark thicket, and then the blur beyond, Boss Li finally exploded like a beast. He hurriedly dropped to one knee on the bed and began tearing off his own clothes. Before he had even undone the buttons of his shirt, Gu Linglong’s two long, beautiful legs hooked around his waist, and her little hands slithered like serpents to the back of his head, pulling him down.
After several minutes of French kissing, Boss Li could not help but cry out in his heart, Damn it, this Immortal Aphrodisiac is just too powerful.
The instant before Boss Li entered her, the unconscious Gu Linglong even managed to cry out something like beast, but the cry was immediately cut off by the loud call that followed.
Springtime desire flooded the room.
Amid the fierce motion, Boss Li did not forget the main task at hand. He quickly activated the dual-cultivation art that Little Shadow had once taught him, and his mind instantly sank into his Nascent Soul.
Perhaps because he had entered it once before, or perhaps because the two had always come from the same source and complemented one another afterward, this time the communion of their Nascent Souls was achieved without the slightest effort.
Li Chengzhu guided his own Nascent Soul through Gu Linglong’s dantian. The place, once brilliantly multicolored, now looked as though it had been ravaged by storm and flood, a scene of utter ruin. Gu Linglong’s petite spirit infant in her Purple Mansion appeared weak and dispirited, her eyes closed as if enduring tremendous pain. Many parts of the spirit infant flickered in and out of view, as though on the verge of dissipating.
Outside the spirit infant, a faint red glow wrapped it in a circular seal, imprisoning it within a ring of light.
Li Chengzhu knew in his heart that this red glow must be the transformed essence of the Crimson-Nurturing Immortal Pill. If not for this light severing the connection between Gu Linglong’s spirit infant and her body, her spiritual energy would surely have become utterly chaotic.
This situation was far more dangerous than the time Gu Linglong had nearly gone berserk.
This time, it was not enough merely to soothe and straighten out Gu Linglong’s spirit infant; he also had to repair it.
Boss Li labored to sort out everything that needed doing this time. The key point was that the very instant he broke the Crimson-Nurturing Immortal Pill’s sealing ring, he had to calm Gu Linglong’s spirit infant at once. Thinking it through, he felt that sending in his own Nascent Soul, which came from the same source, should not pose a problem.
With everything clear in his mind, Boss Li quickly withdrew. He released the Godslayer Bow and let Gu Linglong writhe wildly beneath him while he recalled the strange yet familiar incantation in his mind.
Li Chengzhu could not understand it. The Godslayer Bow he had obtained by chance was practically alive, from time to time pouring into him things he had never heard before, yet each and every one of them was immensely useful.
The incantation he used this time had also been imparted by the Godslayer Bow, at the very moment its second form was unlocked.
Clumsily weaving unfamiliar hand seals, Li Chengzhu only felt his spiritual energy draining away at a furious pace. Alarmed, he quickly fished a handful of Hundred-Herb Vital Yang Paste from his ring and stuffed it into his mouth.
Seal after seal was struck onto the Godslayer Bow at a speed visible to the naked eye. The bow, which had been lying quietly on the bed, slowly floated up. Its jade-green body turned even greener, and there was even a tendency for it to darken toward black. That blackness seemed as though it could devour all light.
Boss Li was truly suffering and enjoying himself at the same time. While forming the seals, he still had to attend to Gu Linglong’s feelings, and from time to time he had to thrust his body as well.
Never again, he cursed savagely in his heart, would he do this sort of thing while also messing around with all this other nonsense. Who knew when he might end up impotent and ruin everything?
By the time he finished all the hand seals, Boss Li was already drenched in sweat, sprawled over Gu Linglong’s body like a dead pig, rocking back and forth with her tremors.
And the Godslayer Bow actually let out a clear ringing sound, like a strong wind sweeping over a blade. The bow body trembled without stop. After quite a while, it finally gave three faint pops. The three pieces of Wood Essence that had originally been embedded in the bow then circled around the Godslayer Bow, floating and spinning.
Threads of green light flowed from the Wood Essence into Boss Li and Gu Linglong lying on the bed, like moonlight pouring over the earth. Li Chengzhu felt so comfortable that he could not help groaning aloud. Even Gu Linglong, still in her frenzied state, grew solemn-faced, and her movements slowed.
Before long, the spiritual energy Li Chengzhu had lost was fully restored, which startled him. Could it be that this thing also accelerated the recovery of spiritual energy?
Hmm. He should try it next time. Boss Li, half-dazed with pleasure, made his plans while reaching out to take the Godslayer Bow and the three pieces of Wood Essence down.
Looking at the Wood Essence, which brimmed with life, Li Chengzhu suddenly hesitated.
Were these three items truly capable, as the lingering fragments in his mind had suggested, of bringing the dead back to life? Just sensing the vibrant, almost living energy within them made that seem entirely possible.
But what if he failed? Failure would mean Gu Linglong’s fragrant soul would scatter like smoke.
After thinking for a long time, Boss Li finally clenched his teeth. Damn it. The timid starve while the bold live to the full. He would risk it.
Making the hand seals, he guided one piece of Wood Essence into Gu Linglong’s Purple Mansion along with his Nascent Soul.
The moment the Wood Essence entered her body, Li Chengzhu even felt Gu Linglong’s spirit infant give a little leap. That discovery sent Boss Li into wild delight. What exactly was this thing, to possess such miraculous effects?
His little hand grasped the Wood Essence as he rushed through the sealing ring of the Crimson-Nurturing Immortal Pill, then spread his arms and held Gu Linglong’s spirit infant, who was full of pain, tightly in his embrace.
Even though Boss Li had once experienced the power of Nascent Soul communion, he still could not help trembling at this moment. The pleasure that penetrated all the way to his soul made him forget everything else in an instant, sinking entirely into it.
After a long while, Li Chengzhu finally adapted to the sensation of his soul being so fiercely stirred, and hurriedly began to sort out the damaged meridians within Gu Linglong’s spirit infant.
With the Wood Essence treasure in hand, Boss Li saved himself a great deal of effort in opening the obstructed meridians.
After all this was done, quite a bit of time had passed. Li Chengzhu left the Wood Essence inside Gu Linglong’s dantian, then withdrew. He took out the Spirit-Bolstering Essence Gel from his ring, mixed it with his saliva, and spat it into Gu Linglong’s mouth. Only after seeing her swallow it did he turn around and sink back into his Nascent Soul once more.
Everything was progressing exactly along the path he had envisioned. As long as the final step went without error, Gu Linglong would be reborn, and perhaps even stronger than before.
Although Gu Linglong’s Purple Mansion was no longer a riot of color, after Boss Li’s careful tending it had taken on a neat and orderly appearance.
Looking at the little Gu Linglong before him, with her eyes closed, Li Chengzhu took a deep breath and began the final step of reconstructing her spirit infant.
