Chapter Twenty-One: Reforging the Immortal Infant
As Li Chengzhu's nascent soul, no bigger than a clenched fist, moved, the wood essence that had been brought in slowly drifted upward, circling around Gu Linglong's immortal infant. With every revolution, wisps of green qi flowed into Gu Linglong's immortal infant, and the furrow between her brows gradually began to smooth away. At the same time, quite a bit of that green qi was also absorbed by Li Chengzhu's nascent soul.
The worry that had weighed on Li Chengzhu's heart finally eased. After those wisps of green qi rushed in, his earlier exhaustion vanished in an instant, and the fear that he might not have enough spiritual power to carry out the incantation also faded, allowing him to unleash the spell with full force.
Boss Li's hand seals grew faster and faster, and the wood essence spun ever more wildly, until faint sounds of air splitting could actually be heard inside the pure and impurity-free purple mansion.
At that moment, the wood essence gave Li Chengzhu the impression of a planet racing around the sun while spinning furiously on its own axis. The green radiance fell without pause upon Gu Linglong's purple mansion and upon his own body, leaving him feeling indescribably comfortable.
Not only was that trace of green light repairing the damage to Gu Linglong's immortal infant, but Li Chengzhu also caught sight, amid the press of work, of faint streams of spiritual energy pouring in from above to join the mending. After a moment's thought, he understood that it must be the doing of the Foundation-Stabilizing Spirit Gel.
A ninth-rank elixir was indeed worthy of its reputation, greatly increasing his odds of success.
With Boss Li's final hand seal and a sharp cry, the wood essence came to an abrupt halt from its extreme motion, as though it had been standing still above Gu Linglong's immortal infant all along.
Then a dazzling green radiance burst outward from the center of the wood essence. With a crisp crack, it shattered into countless strands of green powder, glittering like clusters of fireflies on a summer night, before slowly drifting down onto Gu Linglong's immortal infant and merging into it.
Li Chengzhu watched nervously as changes took place in Gu Linglong's immortal infant. At that moment, just as in the fragments that had remained in his mind, the wood essence truly turned to powder and was kneaded into Gu Linglong's immortal infant.
Suddenly, a tremor rolled through the purple mansion, like an earthquake. In his alarm, Li Chengzhu no longer cared about anything else and hurried to Gu Linglong's side, throwing his arms tightly around her. Only after a long while did the shaking finally subside.
Gu Linglong slowly opened her eyes as well.
"Linglong, how do you feel?" Boss Li asked anxiously.
Gu Linglong smiled shyly and lowered her head. "I feel very well."
"Good." Boss Li touched his own forehead with a small hand. This risky venture had really succeeded.
"Zhuzi," Gu Linglong called softly, "thank you."
"Heh heh." Li Chengzhu instantly turned lewd, his tiny face leaning toward Gu Linglong with exaggerated solemnity. "Is one little thank-you really enough?"
"What... then what do you want?" Gu Linglong looked like a young girl awakened to love for the first time. The blush on her face, mingled with that faint, saintly radiance, gave her an indescribable charm.
Li Chengzhu pulled Gu Linglong's immortal infant into his arms at once, pressed his little mouth upward to kiss her, and his small hand never stopped as it moved across her chest.
Outside, a man and a woman writhed madly, acting on primal instinct; within, the Five-Color Immortal Armor had been cast aside inside the purple mansion, and the two little figures clung to each other.
The intoxication of both spirit and flesh made Boss Li feel as though he could linger here forever and never leave.
But he knew time was short. By his estimate, at least a day had already passed since they began. If they stayed any longer, he feared that Uncle Cai would no longer be able to hold them back.
With painful reluctance, he tore himself away from the attachment etched into his heart and slowly withdrew his primordial spirit. When he opened his eyes again, he discovered that beneath him Gu Linglong was tossing her disheveled hair like a thousand-year-old wanton, frantically twisting her body to meet his every thrust. Coupled with those shrill cries that sounded as though she were being ravished, Boss Li felt that he was nearly at his limit.
Just then, Boss Li suddenly sensed a familiar fluctuation of spiritual pressure rushing rapidly this way.
The bedroom door was violently kicked open, and Little Shadow's cry followed at once, reaching both their ears. "Sister, you..."
The sultry sight left Little Shadow speechless for a moment. Even though she had seen such a scene once before, she was still stunned into standing motionless in place, her eyes wide open, staring unblinkingly at Boss Li.
Gu Linglong's cries broke off abruptly. With her mouth tightly shut, she strained to push at the body pinning her down, letting out a string of muffled groans.
The bed made of thousand-year-old rosewood creaked and groaned. Little Shadow's face burned hot, while Gu Linglong, too embarrassed to bear it, closed her eyes tightly and turned her head aside, allowing Boss Li to gallop over her body.
Li Chengzhu glanced back at Little Shadow, who looked as if her soul had left her body, and let out a hard breath through his nose.
This strangely provocative scene had finally driven Boss Li over the edge.
With several violent shakes of the wooden bed, Boss Li collapsed onto Gu Linglong like a dead pig.
Little Shadow, dazed and frozen, finally recovered her senses. Slowly turning around, she drifted out the door on unsteady legs, gently pulled it shut, and then hurried footsteps sounded outside the bedroom.
"Hahaha." Li Chengzhu laughed heartily and without a care in the world.
"You still dare laugh." Gu Linglong hammered Boss Li's shoulders with both fists. "Little Shadow saw us. I'm mortified."
"What are you afraid of?" Li Chengzhu caught her little hand, his old face showing not the slightest trace of embarrassment. "It's not the first time she's seen it." Then he winked at Gu Linglong. "If she likes it, we can let her come watch every time from now on."
Gu Linglong's small hand immediately pinched the flesh at Boss Li's waist. "How dare you!" Then she thumped Li Chengzhu several more times. "This is all your fault, setting up that barrier. Otherwise, how could Little Shadow have come in without us hearing her?"
"You were too absorbed to notice even Little Shadow's spiritual pressure," Li Chengzhu said with a lift of his brows. Looking at that flawless face, he kissed her once and said, "Or should I say, you want the whole city to hear your..."
"Don't you dare say it." Gu Linglong glared at him, and her face flushed at once.
Thinking of the cries she had just made, she truly felt... too shameful to hear.
After a while of teasing and clinging to each other, Gu Linglong reluctantly pushed at Boss Li. "Get up." Then, with a mournful look, she said, "How am I supposed to face people now?"
"What is there to be ashamed of? Men and women loving each other is nothing unseemly." Boss Li climbed off her with a look of disdain and searched left and right, but found not a single garment.
"Where are my clothes?" Gu Linglong's expression changed instantly.
