Chapter 101: The Secret Art of Winning a Man's Heart
Ruan Cha did not dwell on it. “In that case, let’s keep digging with the clues we have for now.”
“All right, then, Little Tea,” Cheng Xiuyan said with a grin. “Now that the serious talk is over, we should get to the private matters, shouldn’t we?”
Ruan Cha picked up her phone to send Gu Zhenzhi a message. Hearing that, she raised an eyebrow. “Between the two of us, do we even have private matters to discuss?”
“Little Tea, that’s hurtful. Why wouldn’t we be able to talk about private matters?” Cheng Xiuyan’s narrow eyes curved with a teasing, almost flirtatious charm.
“Or could it be...” He lifted a hand and gasped, a finger pressed in front of his mouth. “No way... you couldn’t have actually fallen for that Gu Zhenzhi, could you?”
“Cheng! Xiu! Yan!” The moment Ruan Cha heard that, her expression changed at once, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. “If your mouth is not needed, please donate it to someone who can use it!”
“What? I only said it offhand. Why are you getting so mad? Don’t tell me I hit a nerve?” Cheng Xiuyan’s coy expression made Ruan Cha’s palm itch.
Her fist was already halfway raised.
Cheng Xiuyan waggled his brows. “By the way, with a face like yours, it shouldn’t take more than a few days to hook a man. Why are you still hanging around Ink City? When are you coming back to the base?”
Ruan Cha no longer even felt like indulging him.
“Could it be...” Cheng Xiuyan seemed to think of something all at once. “Could it be you don’t know how to seduce men at all?”
“Wow.” Cheng Xiuyan feigned surprise. He pulled out his phone and swiped quickly across the screen with his long fingers. “No way, no way. Our legendary Ruan boss, the master of flirting with girls, actually... doesn’t know how to pick up a man!”
“Shut up! If I don’t know, do you think you do?” After saying that, Ruan Cha curled her lips. “Actually, you probably do. The men trailing after you could probably stretch all the way to France.”
Cheng Xiuyan’s face changed with anger. “Ruan Cha! I’m straight!”
“Sure, sure... only someone who’s not straight would go around insisting they are.”
Cheng Xiuyan took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. “And here I went out of my way to get you a copy of a master guide to winning men from Su Ye. If that’s your attitude, I’m guessing you won’t need it after all...”
He reached into his laptop bag.
He felt around for a long time.
But the bag was empty.
Just as Cheng Xiuyan was puzzled, he saw the book pinched between Ruan Cha’s thumb and forefinger.
“Damn it! Ruan Cha, when the hell did you swipe that?”
Ruan Cha smiled sweetly and brightly. “With those pathetic little tricks of yours, you still want to pull something over on me? The third time your eyes drifted toward your laptop bag, I knew there had to be something incredible in there.”
Ruan Cha stuffed the guide into her small backpack, slung it over her chest, and held it tightly with both hands. “I’m leaving. Goodbye.”
Cheng Xiuyan was so frustrated by her that he felt a tightness in his chest. He looked at her helplessly. “You little brat... you really know how to play games.”
On the way, Ruan Cha hailed a taxi. Once she was seated inside, she took out the guide she had swiped from Cheng Xiuyan.
As if to match its supposed purpose, the cover was made of a leather-like material. When she opened it, there were pictures and text side by side, with detailed notes on the psychological state of men and women at every stage, along with methods for what to do.
Ruan Cha rubbed her eyes, ready to study hard.
First move of the Master Guide to Winning Men: praise him. Praise him to the heavens.
Ruan Cha sneered in disdain. That’s it? Old trick. Nothing new.
