Chapter 120: Look How Wronged the Tough Guy Feels
When Ruan Cha heard the low, husky voice behind her ear, a chill ran down her spine. She was still moving forward, her calf not yet halted, and as she lifted her foot, a sudden force from behind yanked her down to the ground.
The faint sound of her knee hitting the floor froze her in place.
She glanced down at the pitch-black floor beneath her.
Then, turning her head, she met the deep, dark eyes of Gu Zhenzhi.
Ruan Cha pursed her lips, her expression awkward for a moment.
“Brother Zhi Zhi, I want to go to the restroom.”
Gu Zhenzhi’s eyes dimmed slightly.
The movie continued playing: “A pride of lions surrounded the lone antelope, poised and ready to attack—”
Ruan Cha’s ears twitched subtly.
At the moment the narration spoke of being poised to attack, she tensed her ankle, wrenched her calf free from Gu Zhenzhi’s grip, quickly stood up, and darted away.
Gu Zhenzhi was speechless.
Bursting out of the screening room, Ruan Cha immediately saw Shirek and Sheng He—two towering figures over six feet tall—standing like sentinels on either side of the door.
They were motionless, like two imposing pillars guarding the entrance.
Her hastily fleeing footsteps abruptly stopped.
She glanced first at Shirek.
His eyes sparkled with delight as he shot her a fervent look.
Ruan Cha remained expressionless.
She then turned to Sheng He, who exuded an aura of cold indifference.
“What are you two doing standing here if you’re not watching the movie?”
Sheng He withdrew his gaze, looking toward the darkened theater. “I have no interest in animal fights or mating rituals.”
Afterward, he turned back to Ruan Cha. “Frankly, the island’s little films are far more exciting and thrilling than this.”
Ruan Cha’s eyes widened in shock at those words.
Damn it.
What kind of predatory talk was that?
Wasn’t he supposed to be a distant, unapproachable ice queen?
Now, he was driving at full throttle, going at 220 miles per hour.
Her ears flushed red as she waved her hand toward them. “I’m going now.”
When she came out of the restroom, the other three stood in a row, all their gazes fixed on her.
Ruan Cha was puzzled.
She quietly returned to Gu Zhenzhi’s side, slipped her small hand into his palm, then lifted her clear, shimmering eyes and sweetly called out, “Brother Zhi Zhi~”
At the sound of that tender address, Shirek, not far away, trembled violently.
He clenched his fists in silent agony, his eyes revealing a fierce mixture of rage and endurance.
His leader!
The wise, mighty, decisive, invincible, and outstanding leader—how could he become so humble before this man?!
Shirek could barely control his twitching fists.
His eyes blazed as he glared at Gu Zhenzhi.
But the next moment, he met Ruan Cha’s cold, piercing gaze.
Instantly, Shirek lost his temper.
Like a rooster defeated before the fight even began, all his arrogance vanished.
He breathed heavily, restraining the wild turmoil in his heart.
Then, he slumped onto Sheng He’s shoulder, shoulders shaking.
His leader had truly switched loyalties...
From now on, there was no place for him in his leader’s world...
His leader’s eyes belonged only to that damned man...
Wailing, his heart ached terribly!
Sheng He didn’t understand what was going on with Shirek, but knowing they were in a pseudo-couple relationship, he confidently wrapped his arm around Shirek, pulling him close and gently stroking his back.
“Look at this tough guy, so wronged—come into big sister’s arms, it’s okay...”
