“No, our boss didn’t say,” Yellow Crow replied, shaking his head.

With that, he took his leave.

The moment Yellow Crow left, Chen Wei said ingratiatingly, “Class monitor, this bottle of red wine must have been a gift from the owner for you! Of all of us, you’re the most respected. If he wasn’t giving it to you, who else could he give it to? Surely not Jiang Hao?”

Chen Wei burst out laughing when he finished speaking.

He was not only flattering Li Dong but also taking the opportunity to mock Jiang Hao.

Huang Qian chimed in, “Exactly. Of all of us, our class monitor is doing the best and has the highest status. The owner of this restaurant must have taken one look at his impressive appearance and realized he was someone important, so he sent him the wine to cultivate a relationship. Other than our class monitor, who else would be worthy of receiving such an expensive bottle from the owner?”

As soon as Huang Qian finished, everyone at the table nodded in agreement.

Li Dong was thrilled and brimming with pride. He opened the wine, poured himself a glass, and took a sip before calling out with a flushed face, “Not bad. Excellent wine—truly excellent wine!”

“Class monitor, pour me a glass too.”

Huang Qian moved her glass toward him.

Li Dong immediately poured her a glass, then turned to Su Qingli and asked, “Qingli, would you like some?”

“No, thank you. I don’t like drinking,” Su Qingli replied calmly, shaking her head.

Li Dong’s expression shifted slightly, and he continued persuading her. “Qingli, this is fine wine specially sent over by the owner. It would be such a shame not to try it.”

The others followed his lead and began urging her as well.

“Yes, Qingli, have at least a little.”

“We’re holding a class reunion, and you’re refusing to drink at all. That’s really disrespectful to us.”

“Could it be that after spending so much time with Jiang Hao, you’ve caught his habits too and become this timid and cowardly?”

At those words, Su Qingli could no longer bear it.

She slammed her hand on the table and rose to her feet. “I came to this reunion because I valued our old friendship, but you keep mocking and ridiculing Jiang Hao. That’s an insult to me as well! Li Dong, Chen Wei, Huang Qian—and all the rest of you—listen carefully. No matter what, Jiang Hao is my husband. You have no right to mock him!”

Su Qingli’s rebuke made the atmosphere in the private room extremely awkward.

Taking advantage of the moment, Jiang Hao rose and said, “That’s enough, Qingli. What’s the point of saying all this to them? Let’s go. There’s no reason to stay at this reunion any longer.”

“All right. Let’s go home.”

Su Qingli agreed at once without the slightest hesitation, then took Jiang Hao’s hand and walked toward the door.

“Qingli, wait…”

How could Li Dong bear to let her leave? He had organized this reunion and deliberately chosen Maple Leaf City as the venue solely so he could see Su Qingli.

Now that she was leaving, he naturally had to do everything he could to make her stay.

But Su Qingli did not stop. She simply said, “Li Dong, don’t contact me again in the future. The rest of you should do the same.”

After saying this, Su Qingli opened the door and left the private room with Jiang Hao.

Jiang Jingru hesitated for a moment before standing up. “I’m sorry, but I just remembered that I have something to take care of. Enjoy yourselves. I’m leaving first.”

With that, she hurried out of the private room and went after Jiang Hao and Su Qingli.

After the three of them left, the private room fell utterly silent.

Li Dong’s expression was ugly, while Chen Wei and Huang Qian looked equally grim.

After a long silence, Li Dong suddenly slammed his fist heavily onto the table and shouted angrily, “I never thought she’d show me so little respect! She’s gone too far! What does Jiang Hao have that’s so great? Is he even worth a single hair on my head?”

Chen Wei quickly began flattering him. “Class monitor, don’t be angry. I think Su Qingli has been completely bewitched by Jiang Hao. I’m sure she’ll come to her senses before long, divorce him, and then pursue you.”

Only after hearing this did Li Dong’s expression improve slightly.

Jiang Hao and Su Qingli had already left the Tianlong Grand Hotel and arrived at the parking lot beside it.

Just as they were about to get into the car, a woman came running toward them from a distance—it was Jiang Jingru.

When she reached them, she braced her hands on her knees and panted for breath. It took quite a while before she recovered enough to speak.

“Qingli, Jiang Hao, those people were absolutely despicable. I never imagined they could go so far! If I’d known they had that kind of attitude, I would never have told you about the reunion, no matter what. I’m sorry I brought you here just to be mistreated.”

Hearing this, Su Qingli released Jiang Hao’s hand and walked over to her with a smile. “Jingru, this has nothing to do with you, and it isn’t your fault. Don’t take it to heart.”

Jiang Jingru nodded, but then looked toward Jiang Hao.

Li Dong, Huang Qian, and Chen Wei had no idea how wealthy Jiang Hao was, but Jiang Jingru knew his financial circumstances perfectly well.

So even though Su Qingli had forgiven her, she still felt uneasy.

Jiang Hao exhaled and said, “Relax. This is nothing more than a trivial little matter. It isn’t worth taking to heart.”

Hearing this, Jiang Jingru finally relaxed.

She nodded emphatically and hummed in agreement. “I knew you wouldn’t mind. You’re a prominent man now. Why would you stoop to their level?”

She then turned to Su Qingli and asked, “Qingli, are you two heading home now?”

“We’re going back to the restaurant,” Su Qingli replied.

Even now, Su Qingli continued to live at the Qingli Health Food Therapy Restaurant every day, unwilling to move into Jiang Hao’s villa. So Jiang Hao intended to drive her back there.

Without hesitation, Jiang Jingru said, “Then I’ll go take a look at your restaurant. Didn’t you say before that you wanted me to manage one of your branches? I might as well have a look tonight and familiarize myself with the place in advance.”

Su Qingli nodded with a smile. “All right. Get in. We’ll go back together.”

Jiang Hao opened the car door, and he and Su Qingli got in.

Jiang Hao took the driver’s seat, Su Qingli sat in the front passenger seat, and Jiang Jingru naturally took the back seat.

Once inside, Jiang Jingru touched and examined everything around her, then asked in astonishment, “Jiang Hao, did you buy this Bugatti Veyron? You can actually afford a car like this?”

Jiang Hao started the engine and drove out of the parking lot, replying casually, “What’s so remarkable about buying a car?”

His indifferent tone left Jiang Jingru even more stunned.

She knew exactly how much a Bugatti Veyron cost. A luxury car like this was worth at least ten million.

If she owned such an expensive car, she would not even bear to drive it. She would treat it like a treasure, keeping it in the garage every day for fear that it might be scratched or dented.

Yet Jiang Hao was completely unconcerned, as though a luxury car of this caliber meant nothing to him.

How could Jiang Jingru not be astonished?
